Gas loadshedding: FCCI, TEA announce launching of protest

Textile Exporters Associations (TEA) and Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry have announced to launch protest movement from Thursday (December 08) against gas load shedding in Faisalabad Division.
This was stated in a joint press conference by Rana Arif Tauseef, Chairman, Pakistan Textile Exporters Association, Mian Aftab Ahmad, Regional Chairman, All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association, Muzzamal Sultan, President FCCI, Qamar Aftab, Vice Chairman, Chaudhry Salamat Ali, Chief Co-ordinator, PHMA (North Zone) and other trade leaders at PTEA Complex.
They announced that they would gather outside the offices of City District Government on Thursday morning for registering their protest against the three-day gas shedding in a week. They stated that Value Added Textile industry is providing jobs to millions apart from contributing good amount as tax, besides earning much-needed foreign exchange. But cold shoulder approach of the government was hurting export-oriented businesses pushing many industrial units toward closure, which could render large number of labourers jobless.
