Violence cases claimed lives of 43 women in November: report

As many as 43 women lost their lives to domestic violence and 'Karo Kari' (illicit relations) killings in Sindh in the month of November 2011, according to a report of a non-government organisation Research and Development for Human Resources (RDHR).
In its monthly report issued here on Wednesday the RDHR Sindh showed 12 deaths owing to honour killings while 31 women became the victim of domestic violence. During the same period eight males were also killed in the name of honour, it said. According to details, Jacobabad and Qamber-Shahdadkot had two cases while there was one each case in Ghotki, Larkana, Dadu, Tando Mohammad Khan, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Jamshoro and Khairpur involving women victims while eight males were murdered on charge of illicit relations, two each in Larkana, Shikarpur, Kandhkot, Dadu, Khairpur and Umerkot as well as one each in Nawabshah and Umerkot.
