Project to combat child labour launched

Labour & human resources department of Punjab has approved a five-year project "Combating Worst form of Child Labour". This project will be implemented in four districts of the province namely Jhang, Layyah, Jehlum and Chakwal and later on will be spread across the province. Director Labour Welfare Punjab and the project, Humayun Mazhar Sheikh said this, here on Thursday.
He said that the specific objective of this project is to contribute elimination of worst forms of child labour in four districts of Punjab through provision of social interventions. He said that 4,000 children will be removed from hazardous work to impart non-formal education and skill training.
