National Assembly Standing Committee on Ports and Shipping Thursday discussed Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill 2011 and Sea Carriage Shipping Document Bill 2011 in detail. The representative of ministry of ports and shipping briefly apprised the committee about the prose and cons of both the bills.
He was of the view that the proposed amendments are essential to meet international requirements and enhance Pakistani exports and safeguard the interests of experts, a news release issued here said. However, some of the stakeholders were of the view that the amendments would favour the buyers instead of exporters.
