NAB Punjab observes International Anti-Corruption Day

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab organised a seminar on irregularities and corrupt practices in public procurement in connection with the Anti -Corruption Day here on Friday. Government officers from federal departments, public sector organisations, consultancy companies and academia attended the seminar.
Addressing the seminar Director General NAB Punjab Khurshid Anwar Bhinder reiterated the NAB's commitment to prevent and eradicate corruption up to the grass root level from the society. He called upon the participants to take all possible measures in effecting public procurements, as custodians of the national exchequer.
Director Awareness and Prevention NAB Punjab highlighted significance and aims and objectives of the international anti-corruption day. Khalid Mahmood Lodhi, Director PPRA Islamabad dilated upon common irregularities and illegal practices in violation of Public Procurement Rules 2004.
Fareed Ahmad Tarar, Additional Secretary Finance Punjab gave detailed briefing about financial management in public sector procurement/purchases. Guest speaker Jamil Bhatti, former Accountant General Punjab delivered a lecture on internal controls in public finance. Participants of the seminar took keen interest in the proceedings/deliberations of the moot and asked questions and sought clarifications about the various aspects of the topic under discussion.
