Dense fog expected to develop in plain area

The met office on Friday said dense fog is expected to develop in the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh during this weekend for the prevailing dry spell and low temperature. It said the expected fog would prevail during the coming week. Dense fog is expected to continue from 14 to 16 hours in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Bahawalpur divisions during the coming days.
"No significant rain is expected during the coming week," it said. Temperature in Kalat dropped to a freezing minus nine degrees centigrade, the lowest of the season anywhere in the country, the office said. "Shallow westerly wave is affecting northern areas and likely to persist for next 24 hours," the office said in its daily weather synopsis. It said mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country.
However, it forecasts, isolated rain/thunderstorm in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas. Shallow fog/mist would prevail in some plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sukkur divisions during the early morning hours, it added. Karachi weather is expected to remain dry with maximum temperature between 28 degree centigrade and 30 degree centigrade in the next 24 hours, it concluded.
