Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 115,791 tonnes of cargo comprising 84,207 tonnes of import cargo and 31,584 tonnes of export cargo including 5,052 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 84,207 tonnes comprised of 42,584 tonnes of containerised cargo; 14 tonne of general cargo; 18,531 tonnes of coal and 41,609 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,584 tonnes comprised of 24,231 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,720 tonnes of general cargo and 4,633 tonnes of bulk cargo. Five ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six ships are currently at the berths.

The total import cargo of 64,210 tonnes includes 38,253 tonnes of furnace oil; 169 tonnes of LPG; diesel oil; 10,500 tonnes of palm oil; 1,377 tonnes of project cargo and 13,911 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 24,860 tonnes includes 3,542 tonnes of rice; 2,338 tonnes of cement and 19,070 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two ships namely CV CMA CGM Eiffel and MT Gas Elixir sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. A total number of eight vessels MV Fisher-K, MV Frauke, CV MSC Catania, CV CMA CGM Eiffel, MT Chemroad Rose, MT Gas Elixir, MT Lahore and MV Iqnian Sea are currently occupying berths to load/offload rice, cement, containers, palm oil, furnace oil and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Sapphire-II, Al-Buhaira, Afamia and Cape Tampa with scheduled to load/offload cement, furnace oil, rice and diesel oil are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. No ships are expected to take berths at Port Qasim on Saturday. No ships are expected to arrive on Saturday at Port Qasim.
