US's Narcotics Affairs Section to provide $2.4 million to Sindh Police

A three-member delegation of Narcotics Affairs Section (NAS) of United States Embassy, Islamabad headed by Jon F. Danilowiea called on Inspector General of Police Sindh, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah at Central Police Office on Monday. The delegation discussed the new assistance of 2.4 million dollars, being extended by NAS to Sindh police under Police Assistance Programme.
The meeting discussed at length Sindh Police requirement of commodities equipments to further support the on-going process of modernisation of police force. IG Sindh directed Training Branch, CID, Forensic, ACLC and Bomb Disposal Branches to complete the formalities accordingly by January 05, 2012 to finalise the execution of the program. He also nominated DIGP, Head Quarters Sardar Abdul Majeed a focal person to ensure finalisation of the proposals/formalities within the given time.
Additional IGP, Central, Falak Khursheed, Additional IGP, CID, Sindh, Karachi, Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh, DIGP/Head Quarters, Sindh, Sardar Abdul Majeed, DIGP/Finance, Dost Ali Balouch, DIGP/CID and Assistant IGP, Operations Sindh, Aamir Faruqui were also present on the occasion. The US assistance of $2.4 million to Sindh Police three important component including specialised training, modem equipment support and infrastructure development.-PR
