Amendments in licensing rules: KCAA accomplishes task

13 Dec, 2011

Karachi Custom Agents Association (KCAA) on Monday accomplished the task related to amendments in licensing rules, which was causing a lot of chaos and panic among the members of the association. According to a statement issued by KCAA, a meeting in this regard was convened by member custom Mumtaz with the association last month. After due deliberations, the said amendments are being issued and now the custom agents can renew their licenses as per previous procedure.
The association further said that newly introduced 'Weboc System' at Port Qasim has many administrative issues which are still laying pending and causing hardship and delay to export shipment as well as import consignments. With the efforts of KCAA, the e-Gate facility is now being implemented at QICT and goods can be delivered without any interaction with preventive staff for GD related to Weboc. Regarding the janitorial of custom house, the association stated that ban on procurement fund should be lifted as to improve the general condition of custom house which is very poor and should be improved and give a better environment to service provider and taxpayers. -PR
