Razzaque Umrani, Provincial Project Manager HANDS, while addressing a press conference held at Press Club Hyderabad on Monday, said that in collaboration with Unicef, HANDS is launching a new project on health and vaccination in the seven districts of southern Sindh viz Shaheed Benazariabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Badin, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas and Umer Kot.
Above districts were worst hit by recent monsoons, damaging health, education and total infrastructure was collapsed. Health was first sector which was affected and people were infected with diseases due to dirty rain water which is still present in the many areas, resulting into the seasonal, viral and bacterial diseases.
HANDS, through this project is going to supply free medicines, vaccination and free consultation to the affected population. In the recent monsoon HANDS had provided the rescue and relief to the affected people. and shifted them to the safer places and v HANDS also established temporary tent camps for affected people.
