Resolution passed for Southern Punjab as separate province

13 Dec, 2011

The PPP Punjab parliamentary party has passed resolution for South Punjab as a separate province. The party passed the resolution ahead of the start of provincial assembly session from December 14. Party's opposition leader in the Punjab assembly Raja Riaz told the media that the parliamentary party has passed resolution unanimously. He also criticised the Punjab government for poor governance.
It may be noted that both the PPP and the PML-Q has already tabled a resolution in the Punjab assembly in favour of South Punjab as a separate province. On the other hand, both the MMA and PML (Zia) have tabled resolutions for Thal province and Bahawalpur province. Raja Riaz said the PPP Punjab would table the resolution in Punjab assembly's session.
