Education is key to progress, success of a nation: chief minister Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the dream of national progress and prosperity can only be realised by equipping the young generation with modern education and Punjab government is attaching top priority to this sector. He said that rapid progress is being made for achieving the targets of Punjab Schools Reforms Roadmap and positive results are being achieved.
He said that EDOs Education showing better performance regarding implementation and achievement of the targets of School Reforms Roadmap would be encouraged, while action will be taken against inefficient officers. He was addressing a briefing meeting by British educationist Sir Michael Barbar regarding implementation of the roadmap of Punjab Schools Reforms, on Tuesday.
Provincial Minister for Education Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Member National Assembly Saira Afzal Tarar, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretaries of Education and Schools departments, Chairman Punjab Education Foundation, UK Department for International Development (DFID) and representatives of World Bank were present on the occasion. Addressing the meeting, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that education is the key to progress and success of a nation and the government has taken revolutionary and unprecedented steps for the uplift of education sector.
