Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has approved a development package worth Rs 718 million for the widening of canal road. He directed DCO here and DG FDA to take up this project on priority basis for the completion of development work without delay.
Under the project, the road of two sides of canal from MTEX Chowk to Gutwala Bridge would be widened. DCO Naseem Sadiq informed that the project would be started immediately after reviewing its technical and administrative aspects. The project would raise beauty of the city besides redressing traffic problems. CM Punjab had taken notice of the increasing traffic accidents due to this narrow road and the problems of pressure of traffic being faced by the citizens. He ordered the DCO to devise a plan for widening of this road and approved funds after reviewing the project.
