IGP Sindh for promoting community policing concept

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, has called for promoting the concept of community policing at police-station level in the metropolis. He issued instructions to this effect to the Additional IG Police Karachi. Mushtaq Shah was of the view that the co-operation of the people was vital towards curbing the crimes.
A statement on Tuesday said that a seven-member delegation of Timber Market Association and All Karachi Tajir Ittehad met with the IGP Sindh at the CPO. It said that the IGP Sindh directed that Station House Officers (SHOs) to form committees in their respective areas. These committees, he added, should consist of the representatives of the associations industrial and business centres and of the police officials.
