Three alleged bank robbers held, looted money recovered

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Sindh police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested three alleged bank robbers and recovered looted cash from their possession. According to SSP Raja Umar Khatab, these detained persons, who were alleged in the murder of Rustam Jamali, provincial minister Balochistan, were involved in recent bank robberies in the city.
He said the raid was conducted at Kati Pahari area on the information of Gulab Khan, who was arrested from Kohat that led the arrests of ringleader Kamran alias Kami and Sher Khan. He said the police had also recovered looted cash of Rs 0.827 million and property, which were purchased by the robbed money. Three repeaters, three pistols, one 9MM pistol and several rounds recovered from them.
He said the detained Gulab during initial course of investigation confessed to have involved in several heinous crime, including murder of provincial minister of Balochistan Rustam Jamali, kidnapping, robberies and others. He said the accused Ghulab informed police that the slain Rustom was targeted by his ringleader Kami at Gulistan Jauhar. Further investigation is in progress.
