ANP, PML-N demand Pasha's resignation

16 Dec, 2011

Awami National Party (ANP) on Thursday demanded the resignation of Director General Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Ahmed Shuja Pasha. Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) has endorsed and supported the ANP demand. Speaking on the role of main character of the 'Memogate' scandal, an American citizen Mansoor Ijaz, Parliamentarian Bushra Gohar of ANP said that DG ISI Ahmed Shuja Pasha should also resign as was done by Husain Haqqani for a transparent investigation into the scandal.
Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said: "I agree to the viewpoint of ANP. But the opposition cannot take resignation from the DG ISI; it's the job of the government to take resignation from him," he added. He said that his party had not levelled any allegation on Husain Haqqani.
