CAA conducts full-scale airport emergency exercise

Civil Aviation Authority conducted a full-scale airport emergency exercise 'air contingency' Thursday to check the response of airport staff during any emergency. CAA Spokesman, Pervez George said while talking to press at Multan Airport. He said that beside CAA other relevant organisations participated in the exercise.
These include ASF, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, PIA, PSO, Civil Defence, Fire Fighter Service, Rescue 1122, Edhi Welfare, and doctors and paramedical staff. During the exercise, he said that, fire fighters practically demonstrated their professional skill. On the other hand, army helicopters and ambulances practically presented their efficiency in shifting the injured passengers to hospitals.
The CAA spokesman informed this exercise was a part of such exercises conducted every year at various civil airports. The purpose of such exercise is to assess the ability of all the agencies working at the airports to combat with the emergency in minimum possible time to avoid major damage. The exercise turned out to be a big success as all participants managed to accomplish the task in the response time defined by International Civil Aviation Organisation.-PR
