President grieved over Nur Khan's death

President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed profound grief on the demise of former PAF Chief Air Marshal, Nur Khan and paid him glowing tributes. In a condolence message, the president described Nur Khan as great patriot, a commander of exceptional courage and leadership qualities and an administrator par excellence.
The president said that as Air Force chief, Nur Khan motivated and inspired generation of air force officers and men to lofty aims and great achievements. Air Marshal Noor Khan was a highly decorated officer having been awarded among others with Hilal-e-Jurat, Sitara-i-Pakistan and Sitara-i-Quaid-i-Azam.
The president said that Nur Khan was a multi dimensional personality who left deep imprints in every endeavour of which he became a part. Besides commanding the Pakistan Air Force, Noor Khan also served as head of the Pakistan International Airlines, Member of National Assembly, as chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board and President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation and in all these capacities he led by personal example and from the front thereby bringing a qualitative improvement in performance. He also took part in politics and contested the 1988 elections on a PPP ticket.-PR
