Bollywood stars' residences to be preserved: minister

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Culture and Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein has said that the Bollywood superstars Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor were those legends of this soil, who were respectable for all of us and their residences here would be preserved for coming generation by giving them the status of national heritage.
These views he expressed while visiting the residences of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor at Qissa Khwani, here on Saturday. The minister also directed secretary culture to immediately contact the owners of the houses of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor for its acquisition on payment.
The minister said the legendary of this soil, no matter wherever they were in the world, their work would be preserved and deeds converted into documentaries for the information and guidance of future generation. He said that this soil was very productive and had produced prominent personalities and names in various sectors, which he said was a matter of immense pride for them.
He said that the provincial government has decided to prepare dramas and documentaries on the life and achievements of such legends of this soil. He added that special conferences and fairs on local and national levels would be held to help promote and preserve our culture. Similarly, he said films highlighting the sacrifices of those particularly the women folk that played an important role in war combating the terrorism would be arranged.
Mian Iftikahr added that they would invite their legend personalities here so that our relevant people could be benefited of their experiences. On this occasion, Provincial Secretary Culture, Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Director Culture Pervez Khan and prominent artist and head of Hunar Kada College Islamabad Jamal Shah were also present.
