19 Dec, 2011

President Pakistan People's Party (PPP) South Punjab Makhdoom Shahubbin on Sunday said the PPP has passed a unanimous resolution against clandestine moves to destabilise the present parliament headed by prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
He was addressing a press conference after attending a meeting, presided over by him. The meeting was attended by the South Punjab parliamentarians and office bearers, which discussed at length the prevailing political situation in the wake of memo scandal and the follow up developments. The resolution passed during the meeting has vowed to face any challenging situation at any cost and mass campaign movement would be launched to muster support for the party leadership.
The meeting decided to activate party circles in order to mark the December 27 death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto in a befitting manner. He said party caravans from across the province would ensure their presence at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.
Makhdoom Shahabuddin also criticised Nawaz Sharif for undermining the parliament by approaching the apex court on the memo issue. He said Nawaz should file another petition against DG ISI for mustering support against the democratic set up. He also slammed the judiciary for its activism.
