Seminary student among five killed in separate incidents

At least five people including a seminary student and an elder woman and her son were killed in separate incidents in different areas of the metropolis here on Thursday. According to police sources, a student of Jamia Farooqia, who was kidnapped after sectarian clash in Shah Faisal Colony, was murdered by unidentified men.
Police said the victim, who was identified as Ahmad Baloch, 23, son of Maullana Qamaruddin Baloch, was studying Rabia class at Jamia Farooqia. SHO Khalid Latif Baig said the body of the victim, who was son of a Jamiat Ullehma Islam (JUI) leader, was sent to his hometown Khuzdar for burial. He said the deceased person was kidnapped and then murdered after severe torture.
Meanwhile, Chief of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat Maullana Aurangzeb Farooqi condemned the incident and demanded of government to take action against the perpetrators. No case was registered till filing of this report. In another incident, an elder woman and her son were shot dead at their house located in New Karachi in the jurisdiction of Bilal Colony police station. The tragic incident took place in Sector 5-E New Karachi near Sindhi hotel where two armed men barged into their house and opened indiscriminate gunshots. Resultantly a 72-year-old Amina Bibi, wife of Fareeduddin, her son Mohammad Javed sustained fatal bullet wounds and died on the spot. The culprits managed to flee. Police suspected that they might have been murdered over personal enmity. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A slaughtered body of a man was found from milk shop located near Memon Mosque in the limits of Kharadar police station. The incident took place in Latif Cloth Market on early Thursday where Abdul Shakoor found slaughtered body of his worker Rafique, 50, son of Ibrahim, when he opened his shop.
On being informed, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico legal formalities. Police said the deceased, Rafique, was murdered over resistance during robbery bid as around Rs 40,000 were also missing from the shop. No case was registered till filing of this report.
Another man died when he received fatal bullet wounds while cleaning his pistol at his home located in the limits of Jackson police station. The victim, Faqir Shah, 35, son of Fazal Khaliq, who was the resident of street no 18 Keamari, sustained fatal bullet wounds when he was busy in cleaning his licensed pistol. The body was shifted to CHK for legal formalities.
