Six vying for president's office in PPC polls

The Election Committee of Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Saturday released the final lists of the candidates for the annual elections of the year 2012.
According to the list a total six candidates are in run for the top office of the president. They are included incumbent president, Saif-ul-Islam Saifi (Geo News), Jamshid Baghwan (Express News), Jan Afzal (Daily Mashriq), Gul Rehman Haqqani (Daily Subh), Nisar Mohammad (Akhbar-e-Khyber) and Farooq Firaq of Diva Radio.
For the office of the vice-president, there will be a triangular contest amongst Anila Shaheen (Dunya News), Faqir Hussein (Daily Mashriq) and Waheed-ur-Rehman (Khyber News) while for the office of the general secretary there will be a one to one contest between Nasir Hussein and Shahid Hameed.
Interestingly both candidates are from the same organisation. Furthermore, there will also be triangular contest for the office of the finance secretary. The candidates are included Islamuddin Sajid (Daily Express), Ammad Waheed (APP) and Omair Yasir (Geo News), while for the office of the joint secretary there are three candidates included Sohrab Ahmad Khan (Daily Mashriq) Sajjad Khyal (Daily News) and Fakhruddin (Dawn News).
For ten-member governing body a total of 25 candidates are in the field. They are Ehtisham-ul-Haq Toru (Daily Jang), Iftikhar Hussein (Daily Mashriq), Asad Khan (Daily Jinnah), Ashfaq Ahmad (Daily Alhaq), Amjad Ali Khadim (Daily Jirga), M. Raza Prince (Daily Din), Bilal Ahmad (Dawn News), Rizwan Ahmad (Dunya News), Rizwan Sheikh (Geo News), Zulfikar Ali Shah (Daily Al-Akhbar), Zeesham Liaqat (Daily Jiddat) Safeerullah (Dunya News), Sultan Siddiqui (Daily Jang), Shah Zeb (Express News), Zia-ul-Amin (APP), Abdul Ghaffar Baigh (Daily Express), Abdul Majeed Goraya (Daily Dawn), Imran Yusufzai (Dunya News), Kashifuddin Syed (Sama News), Niaz Gul Shahab (Daily Mashriq), and Yasir Ali (Express News).
