Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif will inaugurate the state of the art 'Lahore Meat Processing Complex' on December 25, (today), constructed with the objective of providing quality hygienic and cheaper meat to Lahore and adjoining areas and boost exports of Halal meat from the province.
Lahore Meat Processing Complex is a project jointly under taken by the Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company (PAMCO) and Mashahd Meat Industrial Complex (Iran), said a spokesman of the Company here on Saturday. This meat-processing complex has international standard slaughterhouse and allied processing industries, which would enable export of halal meat from Punjab and ensure provision of hygienic meat to local population.
This meat-processing complex has the capacity of slaughtering of 1000 big animals (beef) and 12000 small animals (mutton) per day. This complex will also house refrigeration, chilling, blast freezing and cold storage facilities. This process is completed in a record time of 11 months fitted with machinery imported from Turkey and Netherlands. According to the PAMCO spokesman, inaugural ceremony will also be attended by the guests from Iran, Turkey, Netherlands and other countries.
