A young man was burnt alive in his house in the area of Batala Colony police station on Sunday. According to police, Mehmood (28) of Jhal Chowk turned on a heater to warm the room, but a cloth caught fire from the heater and it engulfed the entire house within no time. As a result Mehmood received severe burnt injuries and died on spot.
Receiving information, Rescue 1122 rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after hectic efforts of half an hour.
