Pakistan People's Party (PPP) MNA and former education minister Sardar Aseff Ahmed Ali has announced joining Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying that he was disappointed by the party leadership. Confirming Imran Khan's claim that he has decided to join his party, Aseff Ahmed told a private TV channel that his decision to join Imran Khan was well thought-out.
He said the people of Pakistan were disappointed by the two major political parties and they wanted a change. He said that the people were pinning high hopes on PTI and Imran Khan. He strongly criticised the PPP-led coalition government, saying that it did nothing to improve the economy.
He said that he had been criticising the government policies from the last two months even in the party meetings.
The country's economy and security situation has deteriorated during the last four years due to government policy to appoint blue-eyed people in the key institutions.
Ali added that he shared his concerns with President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto but no notice was taken.
He regretted that his request to take action against corruption and corrupt people in the party was ignored by the top party leadership. He said that he had conveyed his concerns on governance and corruption issues to Prime Minister Gilani in writings.
Earlier, Imran Khan during a public gathering in Karachi announced that he had received a telephone call from Sardar Aseff Ahmed Ali wherein he expressed his desire to join PTI.
