Federal Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday tendered her resignation during federal cabinet's meeting held at Governor House here. However, her resignation was turned down by the prime minister and asked her to continue as federal information minister.
Talking to reporters at Mazar-e-Qauid, Firdous Aashiq Awan said that she had some issues and reservations that she expressed during cabinet's meeting, as it was the proper forum to discuss all such issues. "However, the prime minister did not accept my resignation and asked me to continue as information minister," she added.
She said that Prime Minister Gilani had assured her to resolve all the issues being faced by her as the information minister. When asked about her reservations, she said she did not want any interference in her work. "I want to work as full-fledge minister with all powers," she added. She made it clear that she was with the party and its leadership and would continue working for the party.
