Sindh chief minister hands over challans of plots to KPC members

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has handed over challans of plots to members of Karachi Press Club (KPC) at a ceremony held at CM House on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that journalists have always played a vital role for supporting democratic institutions and rule of law in the country. The media highlight problems of the society and present achievements and progress of the government, he added.
He said it is endeavour of the government to solve genuine problems of journalists as they belong to working class of the society. He said after fulfilment of all requirements, challans are being given to journalists and the old demand is being fulfilled today. Regarding development work in journalists' colony at Hawksbay, the chief minister said that funds have been released to Lyari Development Authority so that work is completed early and members of KPC could start construction of their houses. He said Pakistan People's Party is observing 4th death anniversary of its leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on Tuesday and a big public meeting is awaited at Garhi Khuda Bux. "The objective of the public meeting is to pay homage to great leader", he added.
The chief minister thanked the Governing Body of KPC for awarding Life Membership of KPC to him.
President KPC Tahir Hasan Khan, Secretary Moosa Kaleem thanked the chief minister for full co-operation to members of KPC. They said that the last PPP government had announced to give plots to the KPC members and the present PPP government had fulfilled the commitment and Chief Minister Sindh is giving away challans of allotment orders. They also thanked the President Asif Ali Zardari, who had taken keen interest in finalisation of allotment of plots to members of KPC.
The ceremony was attended among others by Sindh Agriculture Minister Syed Ali Nawaz Shah, Secretary Information Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Secretary to CM Sindh Alamuddin Bullo, Secretary Local Government Ali Ahmed Lund, Director General Lyari Development Authority Agha Masood, Press Secretary to CM Sindh Allah Bachayo Memon and others.
