Grams and wheat prices drifted lower on the wholesale grain market on Monday mainly because of steady arrivals from the upcountry centres, dealers said.
On the grams side, grams Australia No.1 fell by Rs 100 to Rs 4500-4700, grams Australia No.1 dal followed same pattern, losing same amount to Rs 5500-5700, yellow peas Canada shed Rs 50 to Rs 3800-400, yellow peas Canada dal lost the equal amount to Rs 4250-4450, yellow peas Ukraine was also down by Rs 50 to Rs 3600-3800, and yellow peas Ukrain dal fell by Rs 50 to Rs 4150-4350, they said.
On the cereal side, wheat old and new (bardan) slipped by Rs 10 to Rs 2675-2690, other items retained the weekend levels, they said. On the rice and seed sector all items consolidated the weekend gains owing to the easy supply from upcountry centres, they added.
