Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 209,829 tonnes of cargo comprising 133,345 tonnes of import cargo and 76,484 tonnes of export cargo including 4,288 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 133,345 tonnes comprised of 59,015 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5 tonne of general cargo; 21,077 tonnes of bulk cargo: 13,362 tonnes of coal; 4,723 tonnes of seeds; 2,992 tonnes of soyabean meal and 53,248 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 76,484 tonnes comprised of 59,592 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,720 tonnes of general cargo; 5,772 tonnes of cement and 9,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Ten ships namely APL Sharjah, OOCL Busan, YM Fuzhou, Kota Arif, Vira Bhum, Lodestar Genesis, Prem Divya, Tamarita, Smarty and Sanko Mineral with five container ships, two oil tankers, two coal carriers and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Nine vessels viz Vira Bhum, Kota Arif, MOL Bravery, Conti Brisbane, Chemroad Rose, UACC Sound, Berthea, Aashman and Fujisan Maru with four container ships, three oil tankers one coal carrier and one cement carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely MOL Bravery, Conti Brisbane, UACC Sound and VSP Ruby with two container ships, one oil tanker and one seeds carrier sailed out to sea on Monday, while two ships namely Berthea and Aashman carrying one oil tanker and one coal carrier respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Three vessels viz STX Patraikos, Du Juan Song and Fade-1 with one container ship, one project cargo ship and one wheat carrier respectively due to arrive on Monday, while five vessels viz Al-Mirqab, APL Pearl, Oriental Marguerite, Safina-2 and Fantastic carrying two container ships, one chemical carrier, one rice carrier and one coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

The shipping intelligence and business activity reports from Port Qasim were not received on Monday.
