Captain Raja Farhan Ali Shaheed Park inaugurated

A newly constructed park by DHA having modern amenities was inaugurated at a ceremony held here on Monday evening. Administrator DHA Brig. Aamer Raza Qureshi was the chief guest of the function.
The park has been named as Capt. Farhan Ali Shaheed Park to pay homage to the young Army Officer who laid down his life fighting courageously in defence of his motherland against the terrorists in an operation Rah-e-Nijat at 'Tor Cher Valley' of Dara Adam Khel last year.
Administrator DHA addressing the gathering said that the young martyr had emerged as a symbol of strength, courage and perseverance against tyranny and terrorism. He said that DHA decided to name the park after the Shaheed Officer so that it should be a source of inspiration for the people to unite and to resolve to fight against terrorism and extremism in society.
Brig. Aamer said that Captain Farhan Ali Shaheed epitomises chivalry, sacrifice and dedication and is the pride of the nation. He said that the young officer had written a golden chapter in the annals of history and his memories would always remain alive in our hearts and souls.
An impressive programme compared by poetess Ambreen Haseeb was organised on the occasion in which the family members of the martyr expressed their views in an emotional and inspiring manner. Documentaries of the Shaheed Officer were also shown on the large screen and national/inspiring songs were played on the occasion. The Shaheed was the son of Lt. Col Nasarullah Khan (Retd), staff officer to Administrator DHA.
A large number of people including high ranking civil and armed forces officials, celebrity artists, friends arid people from different walks of life attended the function.-PR
