Two fall prey to targeted killing

A fresh spree of violence claimed two lives in different parts of the metropolis on Tuesday. According to police and rescue sources, a man was shot dead near Sajadia Imambargah Orangi Town in the limits of Mominabad police station. The deceased was identified as Nayyar Abbas, 30, son of Ashraf Abbas.
Police said the victim, who used to work as a supplier in a milk factory, was targeted while on a way to somewhere near Sajadia Imambargah. He received bullet wounds and succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Police said the deceased was also a scout leader of North Nazimabad's Hussaini Sajadia Imambargah and was a resident of Kausar Niazi Colony. Meanwhile, DSP Tariq Malik suspected that the Nayyar might have been a victim of sectarian attack as his brother Imran was also targeted in a similar manner some two months ago.
The victim's body was brought to Imambargah Khairul Amal, Ancholi for funeral prayers where scores of people gathered and shouted slogans against the killing.
In another incident, a bullet-riddled body of a man was found from Jam Goth Malir in the limits of Memon Goth police station. The victim was later identified as Mohammad Omar, 35 son of Bacho Salleh, a resident of Itefaq Colony Khokhrapar, while police found his body from Bagh Kulsoom Jam Goth. Police said the victim, who received a single bullet on his head, had several torture marks. His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities.
Police said the victim had gone missing on Monday and a report in this regard was registered at Khokhrapar police station. Later police handed over his body to the heirs. No case was registered till filing of this report.
