Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 94,485 tonnes of cargo comprising 54,463 tonnes of import cargo and 40,022 tonnes of export cargo including 3,039 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 54,463 tonnes comprised of 21,650 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,702 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,900 tonnes of coal; 333 tonnes of seeds; 1,469 tonnes of soyabean meal and 22,111 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 40,022 tonnes comprised of 20,327 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,053 tonnes of general cargo; 11,742 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,838 tonnes of cement; 9,904 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 6,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Five ships namely MOL Bravery, Conti Brisbane, Chemroad Rose, UACC Sound and VSP Ruby with two container ships, two oil tankers and one bulk cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz STX Patraikos, Al-Mirqab, Al-Saada and Du Juan Song with two container ships, one oil tanker and one general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely STX Patraikos, Al-Mirqab, Al-Saada and Aashman with two container ships, one oil tanker and one coal carrier sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while two ships namely Thien Quang 09 and Fujisan Maru carrying one seeds carrier and one cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Three vessels viz APL Pearl, Oriental Marguerite and Safina-2 with one container ship, one chemicals carrier and one rice carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while six vessels viz Taban-1, Glen Canyon Bridge, Emirates Wasl, Helsiki, Bengal Orghid and Al-Shuwaikh carrying four container ships, one chemicals carrier and one livestock carrier respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

The total import cargo of 76,513 tonnes include 52,125 tonnes of diesel oil; 2,399 tonnes of palm oil; 3,628 tonnes of sunflower seeds; 5,583 tonnes of chemicals and 12,778 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 16,604 tonnes includes 1,680 tonnes of rice and 5,104 tonnes of containerised cargo.
One container ship namely CV Maersk Wisconsin sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning. A total number of seven vessels CV Alaed, CV Maersk Wisconsin, MT Chemroute Sky, MV Pangani, MT Golden Ambrosia, MT Al-Soor-II and MV Voge Enterprise are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, palm oil, diesel oil, chemicals and sunflower seeds respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as six ships namely MSC Natalia, Hanjin Malta, Maersk Kalamata, Pancaldo, Asphalt Merchant and Kei with containers, project cargo, bitumen and palm oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
A total number of five vessels viz CV MSC Natalia, CV Hanjin Malta, CV Maersk Kalamata, MV Pancaldo and MT Asphalt Merchant carrying containers, project cargo and bitumen are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Turminal (MW-4) & (MW-1) respectively on Tuesday.
