IT parks to promote economic activities: Hoti

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said that establishment of IT parks in Peshawar and Abbottabad was part of special initiatives of the government that were aimed at promoting economic activities and generating employment opportunities. He said that the present elected government has initiated revolutionary programmes for elimination of poverty and unemployment having no precedents in the past.
He was chairing second meeting of Information Technology Board at his office on Tuesday. Provincial Minister for Science & Technology, Ayub Ashari, Provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Chief Secretary Ghulam Dastagir, Secretary Finance Sahibzada Saeed, Secretary P&D Salim Khan, Secretary I.T Muhammad Hamayun, M.D, I.T Board Amjid Shahid Afridi, Director I.T Bilal Jabbar, and Deputy Director Ziaullah Khan attended the meeting.
Secretary Science & Technology, Muhammad Hamayun Khan gave detailed briefing on progress regarding establishment of IT parks in Peshawar and Abbottabad, administrative structure of the board and other matters including budget.
The chief minister said that establishment of IT Parks would provide facilities to software companies and call centres at national and provincial level for initiating their business in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that this effort of government would not only help boost information technology and software industry in the province but would also create job opportunities.
