Sugar price slashed by Rs 10 per kg

Under the special directives of Senior Federal Minister for Industries, Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi, the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has further decreased the prices of sugar from Rs 52 per kg to Rs 42 per kg giving relief of Rs 10 per kg to its consumers.
"Decision to this effect has been taken keeping in view of the downward trend in the prices of sugar in the open market and to provide relief to the consumers across the country", a statement of the USC issued here on Thursday said. The statement added that it was always the endeavour of the corporation to provide quality items with maximum relief in the prices of different inventories and commodities to the people specially the lower income group at its stores in the far flung areas of the country.
