Cop among six killed in an encounter

As many as six people including one police officer and four criminals of inter-provincial abductors gang were killed in encounter, here on Thursday morning. Talking to newsmen, Sub Divisional Police officer DSP Raja Taifoor Akhter said that an inter-provincial gang of outlaws involved in abduction of ransom cases had abducted Dr Tallal Khan, a month back and demanded a ransom of six million rupees for his release.
During investigations of abduction, police traced the location of abductors. A huge contingent of police from Haripur and Taxila along with APC, officials of police commandos and Elite Force launched pre-dawn strike at the rented house of the abductors. The gangsters shot dead the abducted doctor and opened indiscriminate firing at the police. As a result the DSP Haripur circle Asif Gohar and Sub-Inspector Raja Hassnain of Taxila police received bullet injuries while Sub Inspector Raja Hassnain was killed. In cross fire four members of the gang including two women were killed.
