Kidnapped student released after ransom payment

A local first-year student who was abducted eight days ago was released on Friday after paying Rs 2.1 million. Muhammad Bilal, 18, r/o 173 TDA and s/o Iqbal Khousa, a student of Punjab Academy, Kot Addu, was kidnapped on December 22 while coming back to his home by motorbike.
He was allegedly intercepted by Yaseen, Javed, Akram, Jamshed belonging to Chak No 147 TDA and Sharif Khokhar of Khanewal along with three unidentified accomplices, who took him to some undisclosed location. According to police sources, the kidnappers demanded Rs 10 million for his release from his father Haji Iqbal. However, the matter was settled at Rs 2.1 million which the family paid. Later, police raided houses of the accused on the report of the boy's father and arrested them with amount Rs 80,000. Police are in search of the rest of the accused. A servant of Haji Iqbal was also involved in the incident.
