District judiciary backbone of judicial system: LHC CJ

Chief Justice Lahore High Court Sheikh Azmat Saeed has said that people of the country are the actual stakeholders of the judicial system and they rightly have high hopes in the judiciary. The CJ thereof called upon the judges to decide cases strictly without fear or favour.
The CJ was speaking to District and Sessions Judges at Punjab Judicial Academy where they completed a capacity-building training course. The CJ said although the strength of judges in the province of Punjab was not commensurate in scope with the alarming number of pending cases, judiciary had no choice except to deliver justice as per the expectations of masses.
The CJ said that district judiciary was the backbone of the judicial System and structural changes would be made to eliminate corruption from all tiers and all loopholes leading to such malpractices would be plugged as per law. The Chief Justice exhorted the Sessions Judges to work whole-heartedly at ex-cadre posts, which would be a yardstick for their future career. Senior Pusine Judge Justice Umar Ata Bandial and others were also present on the occasion.
