Foiling a mass kidnapping bid levies officials killed five kidnappers and secured safe release of three doctors and one lady health worker here on Friday. According to a levies official Shakoor, the armed men kidnapped three doctors and one lady health worker from killi Hekalzai and Malazai on gun point and wanted to shift them out of the district, presumably to Waziristan.
Soon after being hinted the district levies officials cordoned off the area and intercepted the hostage takers at Killi Morghazai, Barshor. During the exchange of fire, five kidnappers were killed while one sustained serious injuries and was arrested by the levies force.
Three levies officials also sustained injuries and were shifted to Quetta for treatment. The hostages were safely recovered. Bodies of the kidnappers were being shifted to the Pishin hospital for identification. It is worth mentioning here that a couple of weeks ago armed men seized six workers of a local NGO from the same area and shifted them to Waziristan.
