Explosives recovered in Quetta

Police on Saturday recovered explosive material at a place near the building which was destroyed in a car bomb blast here on Friday night on Arbab Karam Khan Road. When contacted PS Sariab, a police official confirmed that some explosive material was recovered during search of the area adjacent to the building which was damaged in the explosion. However, he did not give further details in this regard.
He said bomb disposal squad under the supervision of senior police officials had been carrying out search of the entire area adjacent to the affected site. Meanwhile, some other sources told that six bombs were recovered from the site near to the buildings which caught fire in car bomb explosion last night. They added that a bomb disposal team had defused these explosive devices.
It may be mentioned that unknown men had parked 50-kg explosive laden car near house of Mir Shafeeq Mengal, the son of ex-state minister Mir Naseer Mengal on Al-Mashriq Line of Arbab Karam Khan road on Friday night. They detonated the car after one hour when Shafeeq Mengal reached his house from his native district Khuzdar. The powerful car bomb blast killed at least 13 people and injured 30 others including two children.
