'Gujranwala meeting shows PML-N's public support'

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that huge participation of people in the PML-N's public meeting in Gujranwala was the proof of growing public anger against the inefficient and corrupt rulers. He said the gathering had showed that the people of Pakistan were with the PML-N and were awaiting a signal from the party chief Nawaz Sharif.
The CM Punjab said that the people through the biggest public meeting in the history of Gujranwala had shattered the dreams of those desirous of coming into power through back door.
He was talking to members of National and Provincial Assemblies and office-bearers of PML-N belonging to different districts of the province on Sunday. Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa were also present on this occasion. He said that the country was passing through a very difficult period of its history and the wrong policies of the government had ruined the national institutions.
Shahbaz said that the worst loadshedding of gas and electricity had made the lives of people miserable.
He said that Punjab government was pursuing a comprehensive programme of public welfare projects. Good governance and merit had been promoted in the province and transparent utilisation of every penny of the public money was being ensured, he added.
He stressed upon the elected representatives to ensure timely and transparent completion of development projects in their respective districts so that their fruits could reach to the masses at the earliest. Those who met the Punjab Chief Minister included Provincial Minister for Auqaf Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi, MNAs and MPAs Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan, Abdul Waheed Chaudhry, Aamir Saeed Ansari, President of PML-N Multan Saeed Ansari, General Secretary Sheikh Tariq and others.
