Stocks, financial and commodity markets in US, UK, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand and Thailand were closed on Monday for the New Year's Day holidays. Markets will reopen on January 3 and some markets resume trading on January 4, 2012.
