Six killed, 20 injured in blasts

At least six were killed and twenty injured in two separate blasts that ripped through an internet cafe in Peshawar and Bacha Khan Chowk in border town Landi Kotal in Khyber Agency on Tuesday. Two people were killed and 20 others injured as a bomb hit the basement of Azam Tower building on Arbab road in the jurisdiction of University Town Police Station.
The injured were shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital for treatment. The bomb was planted in a motorcycle parked outside an internet cafe. Bomb disposal squad officials said that, around five kilogram of explosive was used in the explosion. Rescue workers and police reached the scene, cordoned off the area and started investigation.
Moreover, the blast shattered window panes of several offices and shops situated in the area. Separately, four people were killed including a Khasadar force official in a remote-controlled attack at Bacha Khan Chowk in Landi Kotal town in Khyber Agency bordering Afghanistan.
The official of the political administration said the remote-controlled bomb attack targeted a vehicle of the Khasadar. Two cars parked nearby along with shops were also damaged in the explosion. Security forces reached the site of the incident and cordoned off the area while the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
