US MIDDAY: corn eases

05 Jan, 2012

US corn futures eased on Wednesday as the dollar strengthened and traders took a breather a day after prices rallied to two-month highs on harsh weather in Argentina, the world's No 2 corn exporter. Wheat dropped more than 1 percent from a three-month high as traders reacted to technical charts flashing overbought signals across the grain spectrum.
At 10:50 am CST (1650 GMT), CBOT corn for March delivery was down 2-1/4 cents per bushel at $6.56-1/4, January soyabeans were up 1/4 cent at $12.18-1/2 and wheat for March was down 8-1/2 at $6.48-1/2 per bushel.
