In a bid to promote women entrepreneurs manufacturing products, Women Business Development Centre (WBDC) held a handicraft bazaar under its women business development programme here on Saturday.
"A large number of women shoppers and families turned to bazaar which was opened for all day. The buyers took keen interest in various artistic and skilled products of women entrepreneurs. More than 25 stalls were put on display comprising outfits of broidery, various collection jewellery, ladies handbags, decoration pieces and varieties of other household stuff.
Hasna Javed, a buyer attributed that the WBDC's step is encouraging for women entrepreneurs, saying that there are much talented and skilled women in the province, who are attached with cottage industry. She said that the activity will provide great opportunity to promote their artistic work, which is commendable initiative of the WBDC. Another female shopper said she is there to look fascinating work of women and appreciated that the entrepreneurs did marvellous and outstanding embroidery through their skilled work.
"There is much elegance in the work of women entrepreneurs and such business development activities are handy for the promotion of their businesses," she maintained. Nabeel Farman, WBDC Project Manager, while explaining the objectives of the business activity, said that they are extending all kind of facilitation services for development of women business in the province.
She added that institute has pivotal role to promote women manufacturing products in local market. Beside, she informed that WBDC has played significant role for building the capacity of the women entrepreneurs for this purpose training workshops, seminars, business expos and awareness session are being arranged, she added. She expressed the hope that the handicraft bazaar would not only be helpful to promote women business, but also provide greater opportunities to access to local market.
