Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai's Urs begins

The 268th annual Urs of Sindhi sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai have started at Bhitshah Town from Monday for three days. Holiday has been declared on Monday all over the Sindh to pay homage to Sindhi sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, reported a private news channel. Jamia Karachi, Urdu University and inter Board have postponed all the examinations which were scheduled for Monday.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad in his message on the occasion said that Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai spread the message of love and peace through his teachings. Devotees from all over the country have arrived in the Town and paid homage to the great poet and saint, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.
Temporary stalls selling handicrafts, dried fruit and readymade garments are being set up at Bhitshah. The event was inaugurated by Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, while the Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah would be the chief guest at the concluding ceremony on Wednesday. The Chief Minister will also present the Latif Awards to people for recognition of their services in different fields.
