The Aussie and New Zealand dollars scaled fresh highs against the euro on Tuesday and powered up on the greenback, helped in part by benign Chinese trade data. The euro was struggling at A$1.2400, late in the day, having shed eight cents in just a month. Against the kiwi, the euro also hit a lifetime low after breaching support under NZ$1.6200 to stand at NZ$1.6098.
The Antipodeans also marched higher on a broadly weaker US dollar, helped by firmer Asian bourses. The Aussie bounced as high as $1.0318, having fully recovered ground lost on Monday, to be up 0.7 percent for the session. The New Zealand dollar powered up 0.8 percent to a two-month high of $0.7941.
