Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed Pakistan embassies in London and Bern to issue visa to the American businessman Mansoor Ijaz, who is the main character in the 'memgate' scandal. According to sources, the directives have been issued on the orders of memo Commission.
They said that Pakistani embassies in United Kingdom and Switzerland have been directed to issue visa as soon as they receive Mansoor Ijaz's passport and visa form. They further said that the directives have been forwarded to the concerned embassies through fax. However, the sources said that the concerned foreign missions did not receive any application form Mansoor Ijaz for visa hitherto.
Mansoor Ijaz, the main character in 'memogate' scandal has been summoned by the memo commission constituted by Supreme Court to ascertain facts behind the alleged memogate reportedly forwarded by him to former chairman US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen. According to Ijaz's counsel Akram Sheikh, he (Ijaz) would appear before the memo commission on January 16, 2012.
