The Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) has approved around 35 recommendations relating to new terms of engagement with the US and Nato. The meeting of PCNS was held here on Wednesday with Senator Raza Rabbani in Chair. While talking to media persons after the meeting, Rabbani said that the recommendations would now be sent to the Speaker National Assembly.
The draft of recommendations would be placed before the joint session of the parliament for discussion. During first session of the PCNS, it took up matters related to the Nato attack on a check post in Mohmand Agency and Memogate scandal. It may be mentioned here that the Defence Ministry had submitted the record of nine agreements, signed after the 9/11 incident, before the PCNS on December 24. Officials of the Finance Ministry briefed the committee on the financial aspects of blocking the Nato supply.
