The eldest among four sons of late Syed Mardan Shah (Pir Pagara), Syed Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi succeeded his father as the new spiritual leader of the Hur clan on Thursday. Known as Raja Saein, Syed Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi became the eighth Pir Pagara of the clan after 16 Khalifas decided to crown him as the new spiritual leader before the burial of his father in Pir Jo Goth.
At the overnight meeting of Khalifas including Faqir Qadir Bux Mangrio, Faqir Ahmad Saleh Mehr, Faqir Abdul Basit Hungoro, Faqir Waryam Khaskheli, Faqir Ali Ghulam Nizamani, Faqir Abdul Salam Dahri, and Faqir Ghazi Kalr from India finally chose Raja Saein as new Pir Pagara during a formal ceremony. The announcement for new leader was made before the funeral prayer of late Pir Pagara.
The other sons of the late Pagara are Pir Sadruddin Shah Rashdi, Pir Ali Gohar Shah Rashdi, and Pir Hizbullah Shah Rashdi. The Khalifas had to nominate one of the four sons of Pagara as their leader. Syed Mardan Shah- Pir Pagara was also the political leader of Pakistan Muslim League Functional, who died of heart attack in a London's hospital on Tuesday night.
Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah congratulated the new spiritual leader of Hur clan, Syed Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi for becoming the eighth Pir Pagara. He in a statement said the late Pir Pagara had served the nation indiscriminately and hoped the new leader would follow the footprints of his father who had a prominent stature in the country's politics.
