Two alleged bandits killed in encounter

Sindh police on Friday claimed to have killed two alleged bandits in an encounter near old Mehar Cinema in the limits of Shah Latif police station. According to police officials, the encounter took place near Old Mehar Cinema Abbot Factory where at least four bandits were intercepted by police patrolling party when they were busy in looting valuables from passers-by.
Reacting on this interception, the bandits opened indiscriminate gunshots on police to get escaped from the scene. However, two of them received fatal bullet wounds on police retaliation while rest of them managed to flee from the spot. Police said they had also recovered two TT pistols and four mobile phones from their possession.
The bodies have been shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities. Police said the identities of the bandits are yet to be ascertained while they appeared to be their mid-twenties and Pakhtoons. Later police moved their bodies to Edhi Morgue for identifications. No case was registered till filing of this report.
